Fratelli's New York style pizzeria

David, his Dad, and I went to Fratelli's New York style pizzeria this past Sunday. It's up in the Tylersville area, and David picked it randomly using Urban Spoon’s iPhone application. It's a smaller place. They make large flat pizzas with lots of toppings. We got a pizza with sausage, meatballs, pepperoni and bacon on it. (about $18.00) We could not finish it between the three of us. We still had three very large pieces to take home. It came out right from the oven, extremely hot.

We decided that the copious amounts of meat on the pizza made it a little too salty, and we might take it easy on our pizza next time, with just sausage or bacon. The crust was crispy, a big point for me.

The cooks making the pizza actually throw the pizza in the air and spin it around, something that I've only seen in cartoons of Italian chefs. We thought that was very nifty.

  1. If you're already in that area, The Flying Pizza has some tasty pizza, calzones, etc. It's also available by the slice. They're a small Dayton-based group (family-owned.) Fields-Ertel Rd.
