Taste of Belgium on Vine:

I was taking a break from training my replacement at work on Tuesday, trying to ignore my rumbling stomach. I still had an hour until lunch, and my usual tummy-placating tactic -- nibbling on the random assortment of snacks in my file cabinet -- wasn’t working. Looking for distraction, I pulled out my phone and checked my Twitter feed. I wasn’t prepared for what I saw.

I turned to my coworker. “David’s in so much trouble.” I told her.
“Why?”
“He went to Taste of Belgium without me. We were supposed to go together later this week. And he went there today. Without me!”
“Uh-oh.”

Thus began the following exchange:

In case you missed the reference*

To which I responded with the following video:

So when David asked where we should go for lunch today, I practically dragged him down the street to get the waffle and chicken (and those fries!) that I’ve heard so much about. It was everything I thought it would be. Seasoned with hot sauce, the crispy chicken, syrup and sweet waffle all worked together, and I thought the bleu cheese, carrot and cucumber garnish were a nice touch.

David also liked his burger, on a nicely toasted bun. "It was pretty fantastic." He says. I liked the bistro's atmosphere, which is pretty relaxed, yet elegant. With Chimay on tap and paintings from local artists on the walls, I got a pretty nice vibe from the place. We'll definitely be back. Nice job, Jean-Francois!

*If you haven't seen the Blues Brothers, stop what you are doing and go watch it now. Then come back and finish this post. And then go to Taste of Belgium, if they're open.
